CAIRN OptoTIRF V2

Compact and powerful, yet inexpensive, stepper-motor-controlled TIRF

The OptoTIRF V2 is a stepper-motor-controlled TIRF illuminator suitable for any research-grade inverted microscope. It focuses a single or multimode laser spot anywhere in an objective lens' back-aperture using joystick or software control, and stores and recalls preset positions through digital or COM interface. It's appropriate for TIRF and oblique illumination at a range of penetration depths and wavelengths. The 360 degree stepper-motor-control allows the user to illuminate from multiple points throughout an experiment, making it easy to modify the illumination and minimize fringes or shading gradients. A dither function improves field homogeneity by reducing point TIRF artifacts. A motorized bypass port allows for widefield illumination with LEDs or a liquid light guide, or the attachment of a second TIRF module for simultaneous dual-color imaging.
